I remember my coach saying that to me when I was in charge one afternoon, and a customer complained about their food and was looking for a manager on duty.

“Recall the steps, Aisa. You can do this. Just show up and listen with a smile.” I kept telling myself that I could apply the training lessons to reality now.

“You did a good role-play in your training session a few weeks ago.” The sound of my coach comforting me before I faced the angry customer still echoes in my mind.

“Breathe, drink water, wipe away your sweat, check your outlook. We will show the customer that we care and we can assist in resolving their concerns. “ Let’s do this!

I can feel my coach standing beside me, guiding me, and whispering what I have to do next while I speak with the angry customer.

It was the toughest situation yet such a relief because I successfully implemented Customer Recovery with our angry customers.
